Pfizer vaccine Q & A

Loading player...
Limpopo has up to now(23 June 2021), received 56 160 Pfizer doses and by the end of the week we are expecting 139 230 Pfizer vaccines for the 1st group that got vaccinated and are waiting for the second dose of the vaccine.

About a week ago there was new evidence showing that the Pfizer jab is effective against highly infectious SARS Cov-2 variant, including the one circulating in the country. The study tested the 2 dose vaccine against 6 variants. This was a lab study, so it still remains to be seen whether the results will translate in a clinical setting!

There are many question about vaccines and in this Podcast, Mpho Mashita and DJ Complexion talk to Prof Rudzani Muloiwa, the Head of Department for Paediatric and Child Health at the University of Cape Town, as he answers those questions.
