Business trip births a new company - Unoshea

Unoshea was born after a business trip to West Africa (Accra in Ghana), where a brick of unprocessed shea butter was given to me by a friend after a conversation about dry skin. It was my first encounter with the product but I soon discovered that shea butter has been used for years in that part of the world as well as globally.

After using the shea butter, I got curious and started numerous experiments to soften and fragrance the unprocessed shea butter for daily use. I was in my kitchen – mixing, cooking and whipping for months – mainly using YouTube as my instructor. Six months of trial and error, but I persevered… One evening, all of my toiling paid off and Voilà! I’ve created my own whipped body butter! After selling to close friends and family, this quickly spiralled into a business. We have since introduced additional products and the UnoShea brand has grown significantly.
