The Sowetan reports on its front page this morning that four people, three of them tuck shop owners have been gunned down in Ratanda township in Heidelberg over the past month. Most of these cases involve foreign nationals as alleged perpetrators. Sizwe Dhlomo and Sol Phenduka spoke about entrepreneurship, particularly in the townships. They then posed the questions, “why is it that the community doesn’t protect the spaza shop owners are attacked, and when buying, do you prioritize price of the goods or being patriotic?”
