#FirstThingsFirst - Parliament warned against sending Dr Hlophe to the JSC

Designating someone to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) who was found guilty by that same body of gross misconduct would be completely inappropriate, irrational, and susceptible to legal challenge. This was the message of a group of civil society organisations to National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza after former president Jacob Zuma's MK Party nominated Dr John Hlophe, to serve on the JSC. The team discussed the challenges this move by MK Party poses for the legal system. Listeners also pitched in, sharing whether they are for or against Dr Hlophe being part of the JSC.
