Two of the ANC's government of national unity (GNU) partners - the DA and GOOD party - are gunning for Justice Minister Thembi Simelane after it was revealed she was embroiled in the VBS Bank scandal. From outside the GNU, ActionSA has already written to the Public Protector, asking for an investigation. On Monday, News24 and the Daily Maverick reported on a joint investigation, which revealed Simelane used a "commercial loan" of R575 600 from Gundo Wealth Solutions, owned by Ralliom Razwinane, to purchase a coffee shop in Sandton. The team discussed the story and pondered, “judging by the history of the NPA, do you trust that it will continue to exercise its mandate to investigate this matter without fear, favour or prejudice?”
