Gauteng Department returns R2.2 billion to Treasury.

The Gauteng government has returned R2.2 billion of unspent funds back to National Treasury. This was revealed by Gauteng Treasury Head, Ncumisa Mnyani, who said R3.4 billion was unspent from the previous financial year, but R1.2 billion was rolled over. The team deliberated over the issues leading to this budget not being spent and asked listeners, "do you prefer the money not get wasted and sent back to Treasury, or do you feel it's a wasted opportunity?"
