During the beginning of their 5th special national congress yesterday, SA Communist Party General Secretary Solly Mapaila denied claims that they wanted the ANC to go into a Government of National Unity with former President Jacob Zuma’s MK Party, stating that they instead wanted the ANC-EFF coalition. The party's Chairperson Blade Nzimande also contributed to the conversation, saying he shares his party's objection to the GNU. The team pondered whether SACP should continue to be part of the government since they’ll be contesting elections independently in 2026. They also examined whether communism can work in this day in age.
