City of Ekurhuleni Mayor Dr. Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has temporarily suspended the R126 fixed electricity tariff after days of violent protests in Tembisa. Residents took to the streets, blockading roads and clashing with police, arguing the charge was unaffordable and deepening economic hardship.
