Gauteng MEC Vuyiswa Ramokgopa tables 2024/25 Annual Report

MEC Ramokgopa highlighted the department’s achievements despite structural changes, including support for nearly 10,000 subsistence farmers, establishment of township abattoirs, 130,000 trees planted, and over 5,000 EPWP work opportunities. Key challenges included climate change, municipal capacity, and food insecurity. The department spent 95% of its R1 billion budget and is now focusing on agro-processing hubs, urban farming, and expanding food security initiatives.
