Dr Fikile Mabena

Is a pediatrician, infectious diseases specialist, and clinical lecturer at the
University of the Witwatersrand, based at Chris Hani Baragwanath
Academic Hospital.
A clinician-scientist deeply committed to dignified, evidence-based, and
compassionate care, she also serves as a part-time PhD student with the
Vaccines & Infectious Diseases Analytics Research Unit (Wits-VIDA).
As the current president of the Southern African Society for Paediatric
