Dr Lesley Lehlohonolo Mofokeng is an academic, journalist, author, broadcaster, writer, producer, and PR and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience across print, radio, television, publishing, and higher education. He holds a PhD in Journalism and Media Studies from Wits University, where his doctoral research, Sol T. Plaatje’s Ink, examines the emergence of a Setswana public sphere through Sol T. Plaatje’s newspapers (1901–1915).
An Associate Lecturer at the Wits Centre for Journalism, he teaches Practice of Journalism, History of Journalism, and Feature Writing, supervises Honours and Masters research, and publishes and presents scholarly work on Sol T. Plaatje, the early Black Press, Afrocentricity, literary journalism, and media history.
