Elaine Passmoor is the National Executive Director of Down Syndrome
South Africa, where she leads efforts to promote inclusion, awareness,
and support for individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities
across the country.
She is a devoted mother of three, and her journey is deeply personal, with
her middle child—her son with Down syndrome—turning 18 this year. This
lived experience fuels her passion and commitment to advocacy, shaping
her work with empathy, insight, and determination.
