Ancillar Mangena is a journalist who believes in the power of storytelling to make an impact in society. As a child, she spent long hours glued to TV News channels, fascinated by news. From age 12, she knew she wanted to be a journalist reporting on African stories. Immediately after completing her honours degree in Journalism at the University of Johannesburg in 2014, she was hired by Caxton community newspapers where she worked for just over a year before being head hunted by Forbes Africa magazine
Along the way, Ancillar has collected many accolades. Last year, she won the ZIMEO Award for technology reporting and a Sanlam Excellence in Fi-nancial Journalism: Africa Growth Story
